moving in

In the space of 3 or 4 days we went from this:

to this:

Ok, so we’re still not all the way there, but getting close.  We couldn’t have done it without the AMAZING help from John’s dad, who scrubbed out the floor vents, cleaned behind the fridge, unpacked and put away the ENTIRE kitchen, and much more.  He also treated us to several days of meals at restaurants so we wouldn’t have to worry about fixing food at home.

Also, 5 of John’s soon-to-be coworkers, including his boss (none of whom we had ever met) showed up right after we pulled up to help us unload the Budget truck.  One of these guys brought along a 16 month old baby.  Another of the guys showed up 2 days later and invited us to go sailing with him that afternoon, which we did.  I am still floored by their kindness and willingness to help total strangers move in.

Anyway, more to come soon….

  1. What a lot of work. It looks GREAT! Is there storage and washer/dryer in the basement, or do you have to buy one? mom

  2. You have an amazing father in law, and those coworkers aren’t half bad either! Oh, I am so happy for good beginnings! I have every confidence that these are the first days of a truly wonderful season for you both 🙂
