words for lent

“The forest is mostly dark, its ways

to be made anew day after day, the dark

richer than the light and more blessed

provided we stay brave

enough to keep on going in.”

(from “The Country of Marriage” by Wendell Berry)

    1. Hmmm. I actually haven’t read a ton of his stuff. He has a novel called Hannah Coulter that someone wonderful has recommended to me (which I sadly haven’t read yet). But you would love any of his non-fiction prose. He has one called Bringing it to the Table (about farming and food), and much of his work revolves around the themes of agrarian life, simplicity, and God. So really, anything you can get your hands on will be wonderful!!!
